non commercial portfolio rough

Hey guys, this is my latest rough for my new portfolio. I'll put it aside now and review it in a month or so. I need some distance to re-evaluate and to focus on details. This is also a reason why I posted it here, so if you have any constructive advice, I will be more than happy to take into account. Enjoy!


Thoughts that influenced the creation process:
The main intention of the site is to present work I created in my leasure time. Therefore I do not need any commercial bling bling- I have planned to turn the art into plain html and gif images. The title "brotloseKunst" means something like arts for arts sake and expresses the idea of not being commercial. The claim "Kein täglich Brot" expresses the idea of standing out from crowd. The logo is kept as simple as possible and is meant to abstract a flower head. I repeated to logo and logotype quite a few times to make it a dominant appearance in the application, it will be less dominant in the art itself.

Designwise I chose a clear sans serif font throughout the entire application, for the smaller sizes I selected a pixel version. Colors are very limited to warm greys and the cyan spot color, which fits great to the crisp, sharp appearance.

What else to say? The rest of the design is my personal taste, I like putting in a lot of small Details (hope I didn't overdo it)- oh yes there will be an english version coming, I promise.
